Fox & Firkin gets a 50's refurb


The ever popular Fox & Firkin pub in Lewisham has recently undergone a refurbishment in the hands of its very creative manager and her team. Finding inspiration from 50's prohibition era the theme is very much black and white, with flashes or red throughout.
The pub prides itself on its live music and also runs an extremely popular quiz night on Mondays.
Make sure you check it out, and dont forget out back is a wonderfully Tiki garden - a real oasis!
Fir Tree Wins Publican Award again!


The Fir Tree Pub in Stockport won Best Community Pub of the Year in the 2010 Publican Awards. Following on from last years success on picking up the Best Managed Pub, it was a very proud day for general manager, Tony Cooper.

New Pub Concept...
... launched in five new venues

TCG are proud to announce their new pub concept which has already seen five of its venue take on the new look. Pilot venue, formerly Rat & Parrot in Bath, The West:Gate underwent a massive refit and totally new direction. Moving away from the high street chain bars, The West:Gate offers its customers a unique experience from its range of world beers, cask ales and ciders, a menu sourced from local produce and truly querky decor and bric and brac. Other pubs in the concept are Finnegans Wake Ealing, Star Bishops Stortford and Porter Cottage Sheffield. We expect more to follow in the new year.

Great news following the announcement last week of the Fir Tree being shortlisted, we have since received notification that the Fatling & Firkin, Crispin and a member of staff at the Crispin, Katie Kropachova, have also been successful in reaching the final six in their respective categories. They have all been invited to attend the awards next March and will feature (with photos) in the publican magazine prior to the event. They now need to prepare for the final judging to be carried out in the New Year. Good luck to them all this is a great achievement.

Bread Bowls

Determined to keep offering our customers new and innovative promotions we are introducing bread bowls to our Good Honest Food menu from January until March. Served on a 10 inch plate the bread bowls will contain a choice of three stews including sausage and Meditteranean Bean and Beef with Red Wine. After finishing the stew the customers can then enjoy finishing off the bread bowl which will have absorbed the juice and become soft and flavoursome. Prices for the bread bowls start from £2.95 and are available in all pubs that serve our Good Honest Food menu.
